Fightin’ Words
I don’t know if people in the old west actually said, “Them’s fightin’ words” but I find it funny that the English language still hasn’t come up with a better way to define that concept. Fightin’ words. I know of no other concise way to describe those words that go officially too far. Words that leave no further conversation, no lateral movement, just forward or backward— either punch them or walk away from your friendship.
